Himalaya Rumalaya Liniment is mainly prescribed for inflammatory conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis (pain and joint inflammation), osteoarthritis (bone weakness), neuralgia (nerve pain along with head or face), and sciatica (lower back pain).
It contains Indian wintergreen (gandhapura taila) and camphor (karpoora) as the key ingredients of this formulation. Here are the health benefits of each of these:
Wintergreen (gandhapura taila) is the most commonly used analgesic (pain reducer). It contains methyl salicylate as an active ingredient. Thus, relief from pain in the conditions includes rheumatism (inflammation and pain in joints), sciatica (pain in the lower back), and neuralgia (nerve pain).
Camphor (karpoora) exhibits analgesic (pain reducer) and rubefacient property. It enters into the bloodstream, performs widening of blood capillaries, improves blood flow, and relieves deep-rooted pain associated with joints and bones.
