MAHATHIKTHAKA GHRITHAM;
Mahathikthaka Ghritham act as a blood purifier, immunomodulator, anti-inflammatory, anti-infective and psychotropic. It helps to treat erysipelas, pruritus, carbuncle, chronic ulcer, lymphadenitis, inflammation and oedema.
ROLE OF INGREDIENTS;
Emblica officinalis - as antioxidant, immune modulatory, antipyretic, analgesic, cytoprotective, anti ulser, immune modulatory, anti inflammatory, antitussive and gastroprotective.
Tinospora cordifolia - used for ages in the treatment of fever, jaundice, chronic diarrhea, cancer, dysentery, bone fracture, pain, asthuma, skin disease, poisonous insect, snake bite, eye disorders.
Pandanus odoratissimus - headache, rheumatism, spasm, cold/flu, epilepsy, wounds, boils, scabies, leucoderma, ulcers, colic, hepatitis, smallpox, leprosy, syphilis, and cancer and as a cardiotonic, antioxidant, dysuric, and aphrodisiac.
Pterocarpus marsupium - Fractures, constipation, hemorrhages skin diseases, depurative, ophthalmology, leprosy, rectalgia, and leucoderma, rheumatoid arthritis, skin diseases, external use for sores, boils, stomach pain and gastrointestinal disorders.
Sida cordfolia - is used to treat asthma, tuberculosis, the common cold, flu, headaches, nasal congestion, cough and wheezing, urinary tract infections, sore mouth, and fluid retention (edema).
Coleus vettiveroides - is aromatic, bitter, cooling, febrifuge, diaphoretic, stimulant, diuretic, useful in vitiated conditions of pitta, burning sensation, leprosy, skin diseases, leucoderma, fever, vomiting, diarrhoea, ulcers, stomachic and emmenagogue.
Eclipta alba - is used as antiseptic, febrifuge, tonic, deobstruent in hepatic and spleen enlargement and is emetic. In combination with aromatics, the juice is given in anemia, catarrh and cough. The plant is also used as scalp tonic for promoting hair growth.
Emblica officinalis - as antioxidant, immune modulatory, antipyretic, analgesic, cytoprotective, anti ulser, immune modulatory, anti inflammatory, antitussive and gastroprotective.
Glycyrrhiza glabra - is a small perennial herb that has been traditionally used to treat many diseases, such as respiratory disorders, hyperdipsia, epilepsy, fever, sexual debility, paralysis, stomach ulcers, rheumatism, skin diseases, hemorrhagic diseases, and jaundice.
Vetiveria zizanoides - relieving stress, as well as for emotional traumas and shock, lice, and repelling insects. It is also used for arthritis, stings, and burns. Vetiver is sometimes inhaled as aromatherapy for nervousness, insomnia, and joint and muscle pain.
Cyperus rotundus - is a medicinal herb traditionally used to treat various clinical conditions at home such as diarrhea, diabetes, pyresis, inflammation, malaria, and stomach and bowel disorders.
Hemidismus indicus - is demulcent, alterative, astringent, diaphoretic, diuretic, tonic, anti-pyretic, and blood purifier. It is used in leprosy, skin diseases, fever, asthma, bronchitis, syphilis, pruritus and other urinary diseases, chronic rheumatism, and leucorrhoea.
Hedychium spicatum - is widely used in treating inflammation, pain, asthma, foul breath, vomiting, diarrhoea, bronchitis, hiccough and blood ;
Berberis aristata - use of this herb is in eye related disorders. It is also used for quick healing of wounds and paste of this herb is also useful in syphilis, ulcers and anal fistula. Daruharidra helps to cure spasmodic pain and is very beneficial for patients of menorrhagia and leucorrhoea
Terminalia chebula - is a magical remedy that holds high significance in treating countless health problems including indigestion, gastritis, lung disease, obesity, impotence, cough, cold, asthma, vision defects, urinary tract infections and hair, and skin problems.
Terminalia bellirica - is used to protect the liver and to treat respiratory conditions, including respiratory tract infections, cough, and sore throat. Terminalia chebula is used for dysentery.
Santalum album - is used for treating the common cold, cough, bronchitis, fever, and sore mouth and throat. It is also used to treat urinary tract infections (UTIs), liver disease, gallbladder problems, heatstroke, gonorrhea, headache, and conditions of the heart and blood vessels (cardiovascular disease)
BENEFITS;
Mahathiktakam Ghee combination is used either as acchasnehapana as a preparatory procedure to Ayurvedic Panchakarma (cleansing therapy) or as samanasneha in small doses after having Kashaya or other rookshana medicines for a while. It helps to regain health after the Rookshana (drying up) therapies.
It is very effective in chronic skin diseases like psoriasis, eczema, and atopic dermatitis.

In psychiatric disorders where Pitta is the main vitiated Dosha, mahathiktakam is very much yielding. It is used successfully in Maniac stage of Bipolar disorder, schizophrenia with grandeur or paranoid delusions etcIn some stages of epilepsy also it is found useful.

DIRECTIONS FOR USAGE;
Take 1 teaspoon of Gritham, once or twice daily with warm water before food, or as directed by your healthcare practitioner.
