Haritaki is most extensively shown to work on the gastro intestinal tract, cleansing it so that the nutrients from the stomach can penetrate the intestinal walls and reach the blood stream. As this cleansing takes place so the stool can become more soft or loose than usual. This can lead to dehydration if the amount taken of haritaki is high or the body responds by flushing the system.
INDICATIONS;
Anuria/oliguria, constipation, phlegm formation in the chest due to allergic and respiratory infections, types of vatha diseases, burning sensation of the body, indigestion disorder, pitha disorders effects in the lower intestinal tracts, increase body heat, cough, dryness, anaemia.
DOSAGE AND ADJUVANTS;
5-12gms, with milk after food twice a day. Adjust dosage according to the body constitution or as directed by the physician.
