  • Vasa forte is a synergistic combination of standardized extracts of antiasthmatic, expectorant and anti-allergic herbs such as, vasa ( malabar nut , adhatoda vasika ) , tulasi (holy basil, (ocimum sanctum) and trkatu( black pepper, dry ginger and long pepper in equal proportion).
  • The primary ingredient of vasa forte , adhatoda vasica is traditionally used in ayurvedic medicine, particularly for respiratory tract ailments. It has been used in india as an antispasmodic for asthma and intermittent fever, also as an expectorant in cases of chronic bronchitis and phthisis. Studies conducted on animals suggested that the antitussive activity of vasa is similar to that of against coughing induced by irritant aerosols.
  • Research studies also confirmed its positive effects on inflammatory diseases. Scientific studies have also validated its traditional use in uterine involution (rolling or turning inward) and postpartum (after childbirth) hemorrhage due to its oxytocic action [stimulates contraction of the uterine muscle, facilitating or speeding up childbirth]. Holy basil, secondary herb of vasa forte, promotes optimum respiratory support thus potentiates the anti- inflammatory, expectorant properties of vasa.
  • Other secondary ingredient trikatu , a warming combination of three acrid , not only enhances bioavailability of other ingredients of this formula but also assists them to fight respiratory tract infections and pulmonary diseases, especially tuberculosis .
