KALYANAGULAM;

Kalyanagulam is an effective Ayurvedic medicine for skin, liver and digestive conditions. It is in herbal jam  form. It is also known as Kalyanagudam.

Kalyana Gudam are many-fold, and it is used to treat many conditions. It is a mild purgative and is used in the treatment of skin diseases, diabetes, jaundice and fatty liver changes. Kalyana Gudam corrects disorders like bloating, fistula, ascites and anaemia and is also used to treat digestive problems and flatulence. It also finds use in the treatment of Piles, Bronchitis, Sprue, Cough, Odema and Leprosy. This Ayurvedic product corrects seminal disorders. This Ayurvedic increases appetite by the improvement of digestion and the movement of stool.

ROLE OF INGREDIENTS;

Saccharum officinarum - is widely used in India in the treatment of jaundice, hemorrhage, dysuria, anuria, and other urinary diseases.

Sesamum indicum -  is mildly laxative, emollient and demulcent. The seeds and fresh leaves may be used as a poultice. Th e antibacterial activity of seeds against Staphylococcus and Streptococcus as well as common skin fungi, such as athlete's foot fungus has also been well recognized.

Embelia ribes -  are recommended for relieving headache, rhinitis, haemorrhage, epilepsy and insomnia. The decoction of dried fruits is used for fever and for chest and skin disease. Paste is applied for skin

Terminalia chebula - is a magical remedy that holds high significance in treating countless health problems including indigestion, gastritis, lung disease, obesity, impotence, cough, cold, asthma, vision defects, urinary tract infections and hair, and skin problems.

Phyllanthus emblica - is used both as a medicine and as a tonic to build up lost vitality and vigor. All parts of the plant are used for medicinal purposes, especially the fruit, which has been used in Ayurveda as a potent rasayana and in traditional medicine for the treatment of diarrhea, jaundice, and inflammation.

Terminalia bellirica -  is used to protect the liver and to treat respiratory conditions, including respiratory tract infections, cough, and sore throat. Terminalia chebula is used for dysentery. Terminalia bellerica and Terminalia chebula are used as a lotion for sore eyes.

Plumbago zeylanica -  is a potent medicinal agent used in the treatment of stubborn chronic rheumatoid arthritis, skin diseases and tumerous growths as recommended by Ayurveda. It also finds its use in correcting chronic menstrual disorders, viral warts and chronic diseases of nervous system.

Holarrhena pubescens -  is used for treating anemia, jaundice, dysentery, stomach pains, diarrhea, epilepsy and cholera.

Scindapsus officinalis - has been ethanobotanically used to treat diarrhea, worm infestation mand as antipyretic.

Trachyspermum ammi -  fruit possesses stimulant, antispasmodic and carminative properties and is used traditionally as an important remedial agent for flatulence, atonic dyspepsia, diarrhea, abdominal tumors, abdominal pains, piles, and bronchial problems, lack of appetite, galactogogue, asthma and amenorrhoea.

Saindhava-Rock salt -  is effective in treating respiratory problems and sinus. Gargling or inhaling with rock salt soothes sore-throat, sinus infections, dry cough, and tonsils. Saindhava Lavana works wonder in relaxing the body and mind. A relaxing bath in rock salt takes away all the stress and fatigue.

Vila-Sodium chloride - impulses and muscle contractions. Sodium chloride is used to treat or prevent sodium loss caused by dehydration, excessive sweating, or other causes.

Operculina turpethum -  is a source of a drug known as turpeth or Indian jalap. Root and root bark are cathartic and laxative. The tuberous roots are also efficacious in dropsy, melancholia, gout, leprosy, rheumatism, and paralysis.

Zingiber officinale -  is one of the most widely used natural products consumed as a spice and medicine for treating nausea, dysentery, heartburn, flatulence, diarrhea, loss of appetite, infections, cough, and bronchitis.

Piper nigrum - is used traditionally for the treatment of various diseases including; cough, cold, dyspnea throat diseases, intermittent fever, dysentery, stomachache, worms and piles.

Piper longum - is most commonly used to treat chronic bronchitis, asthma, constipation, gonorrhea, paralysis of the tongue, diarrhea, cholera, chronic malaria, viral hepatitis, respiratory infections, stomachache, bronchitis, diseases of the spleen, cough, and tumors.

Cuminum cyminum -  used in traditional medicine to treat a variety of diseases, including chronic diarrhoea and dyspepsia, acute gastritis, diabetes, and cancer.

Coraindrum sativum - is taken by mouth for stomach and intestinal problems including upset stomach, nausea, diarrhea, intestinal gas, constipation, and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). It is also taken by mouth for convulsions, insomnia, anxiety, and to treat infections caused by bacteria and fungus.

Beeja Dosha – Disorders of Testes and sperms

Koshtabaddhata – Constipation

It is effective against chronic fever ; 

It is used to treat bloating and hiccups.

It has potent anti inflammatory, bronchodilator and antitussive effects.

It is used to treat Abdominal lump

DOSAGE AND ADJUVANTS;

Take 5 – 10 grams once or two times  a day after food or before food, or as directed by Ayurvedic doctor.

It is administered along with honey or warm water.

Dosage for children below 5 years of age – 1 – 2 grams, once or twice a day, along with a teaspoon of honey or warm water / milk.

Dosage for children between 5 – 12 years of age – 5 grams once or twice a day along with a teaspoon of honey or warm water / milk.

This medicine is also known as Dasamula rasayanam
