ALAMPAL THAILAM ;
Alampal Thailam is a classical Siddha medicine in the Siddha system of medicine. It is used to treat joint disorders, dislocation, and it is useful for Varma treatment procedures.
ROLE OF INGREDIENTS;
Vetiveria zizanioides - is widely used as a cooling agent, tonic, and blood purifier. It is used to treat many skin disorders and is known to have a calming effect on the nervous system. Other medicinal uses of Khas Khas include ringworm, indigestion, and loss of appetite.
Hemidesmus indicus - is demulcent, alterative, astringent, diaphoretic, diuretic, tonic, anti-pyretic, and blood purifier. It is used in leprosy, skin diseases, fever, asthma, bronchitis, syphilis, pruritus and other urinary diseases, chronic rheumatism, and leucorrhoea.
Ficus Benghalensis - is astringent to bowels; useful in the treatment of biliousness, ulcers, erysipelas, vomiting, vaginal complaints, fever, inflammations, leprosy. The aerial root is styptic, useful in syphilis, biliousness, dysentery, inflammation of the liver, etc.
Eclipta prostata - plays a role in the treatment of several diseases, including infectious hepatitis, snake venom poisoning, gastritis, and respiratory diseases such as cough and asthma.
Celastrus paniculatus - is used for the treatment of Sciatica, Amnesia, Leprosy (Juzaam), Pneumonia, Pleurisy, Anaemia, Ascites, Loss of appetite, Flatulence, Sexual weakness, Amenorrhea, Leucoderma, and Gout, etc.
Sida cordifolia - is used to treat asthma, tuberculosis, the common cold, flu, headaches, nasal congestion, cough and wheezing, urinary tract infections, sore mouth, and fluid retention (edema).
Limonia acidissima - like a liver and cardiac tonic and when unripe, as a means of halting diarrhea and dysentery and for effective treatment for high cough, sore throat, and disease of the gums.
