MEGANATHA KULIGAI;
Meganatha Kulikai is a classical Medicine in the Siddha system of ; It is indicated for purgation mentioned for gastric ulcer, Vatham and Pitham diseases, oedema, Anaemia, Tuberculosis, Abdominal pain, Indigestion.
ROLE OF INGREDIENTS;
Borax - is a remedy to be used as a topical treatment for certain health problems like sores on the tongue or mouth, as well as swelling of the throat. It can cause toxins to disperse from the affected area, bringing down swelling. Borax also eases pain linked to swelling or sores.
Red sulphide of mercury - is useful in epilepsy, nerve problems. The material is treated, with the fluid of various herbs and cultured in fire, as described in ancient Ayurvedic texts mixing with different other ingredients.
Operculina turpetham - used to treat skin disorders and a variety of illnesses like obesity, tumours, herpes, fever and bronchitis. A fine paste of turmeric and trivia can be applied for chronic ulcers and wounds. It is also used in chronic skin oozing problems
Acorus calamus -s also used as a calming medicine (sedative), to induce sweating, and to treat rheumatoid arthritis and stroke. Some people chew calamus to remove the smell of tobacco, as a stimulant, to increase their sense of well-being, and as a hallucinogen.
Zingiber officinale - is one of the most widely used natural products consumed as a spice and medicine for treating nausea, dysentery, heartburn, flatulence, diarrhoea, loss of appetite, infections, cough, and bronchitis.
Rock salt - provide trace minerals. It's a common misconception that salt and sodium are the same things.
Embelia ribes - are recommended for relieving headache, rhinitis, haemorrhage, epilepsy and insomnia. The decoction of dried fruits is used for fever and for chest and skin disease. The paste is applied for skin infections.
Trachyspermum roxburghianum - are a reputed drug in Indian medicine and are used as a carminative, stimulant, cardiotonic, emmenagogue, and to alleviate dyspepsia, bronchitis and asthma.
Ferula asafoetida - is used in modern herbalism in the treatment of hysteria, some nervous conditions, bronchitis, asthma and whooping cough. It was at one time employed in the treatment of infantile pneumonia and flatulent colic. The gum resin is antispasmodic, carminative, expectorant, laxative, and sedative.
Jatropha curcas - is traditionally used to treat bacterial and fungal infections or febrile diseases, muscle pain or jaundice. It is also used for obtaining new drugs through the identification of active ingredients to eliminate pathogens or inhibit signs and symptoms of human and veterinary diseases.
Croton tiglium - treat gallbladder problems, colic, blocked intestines, and malaria. Croton seeds are sometimes applied directly to the skin for muscle and joint pain (rheumatism), gout, nerve pain (neuralgia), and bronchitis.
