SITOPALADI CHOORANAM;
Sitopaladi Churna is an ayurvedic medicine for cold and cough. It is made from medicinal plants like Pippali, which is one of the best expectorants available in nature as recommended by Indian ayurveda. It gets absorbed into the body and provides nutrition and energy to digest the mucous conditions. Sitopaladi churna is one of the very easy to make ayurvedic herbal powder mix. It is one of the best and widely used ayurvedic medicines for cough, even for kids.
ROLE OF INGREDIENTS;
Achyranthes Aspera -used in treatment of cough, bronchitis and rheumatism, malarial fever, dysentery, asthma, hypertension and diabetes in Indian folklore. Present study was designed to evaluate anti-inflammatory activity of an aqueous extracts of Achyranthes aspera (AEAA).
Elettaria Cardamomum - is used to cure indigestion, nausea, vomiting and used to expel out phlegm out of body. It is also used as laxative and used to prevent stomach pain, flatulence and gripping. Seed oil is very good for digestive system.
Clerodendron Serratum -is useful in asthma, cough and scrofulous affections. It is given in fever and is useful in sinusitis. Juice of leaves is used with ghee as an application to herpetic eruptions and pemphigus. Leaves are vermifuge and bitter tonic.
Piper Longum - is most commonly used to treat chronic bronchitis, asthma, constipation, gonorrhea, paralysis of the tongue, diarrhea, cholera, chronic malaria, viral hepatitis, respiratory infections, stomachache, bronchitis, diseases of the spleen, cough, and tumors.
Cinnamomum Tamala -is used as tooth powder to treat dental caries, bad odor and gingivitis. Powder of the bark of Tejpatra is mixed with honey in a dose of 3- 5 g to treat cough and asthma. The paste of the bark of the plant is applied as paste over the area affected with swelling and pain.
