DRAKSHARISHTA;
Draksharishta is an ancient Ayurvedic herbal medicine. It is useful for anorexic patients, as it helps in gaining weight in a non-obese way. Rich in nutrients which are essential for healthy living, also, aids in the improvement of the burning of fat. Regularizing the digestive system improves visual acuity. ROLE OF INGREDIENTS;
Vitis vinifera - were used for treating sore throats, and raisins were given as treatments for consumption (tuberculosis), constipation, and thirst. Ripe grapes were used for the treatment of cancer, cholera, smallpox, nausea, skin and eye infections as well as kidney and liver diseases.
Cinnamomum verum - astringent, warming stimulant, carminative, blood purifier, digestive, antiseptic, antifungal, antiviral, antibacterial, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and immunomodulatory properties and also help to reduce cholesterol and blood sugar levels.
Elettaria cardamomum - is used to cure indigestion, nausea, vomiting and used to expel out phlegm out of the body. It is very beneficial in congestion of lungs and other pulmonary diseases. It is also used as a laxative and used to prevent stomach pain, flatulence, and gripping.
Mesua ferrea - are useful in skin diseases like leprosy, itching, erysipelas, scabies, wounds, and excessive sweating as it provides fragility and transparency to the skin.
Callicarpa macrophylla - commonly known as Priyangu is a useful medicinal plant for the treatment of various disorders like tumors, polydipsia, diarrhea, dysentery, diabetes, fever, ;
Piper nigrum - also has anti-inflammatory, analgesic, anticonvulsant, and neuroprotective effects.
Piper longum - is most commonly used to treat chronic bronchitis, asthma, constipation, gonorrhea, paralysis of the tongue, diarrhea, cholera, chronic malaria, viral hepatitis, respiratory infections, stomachache, bronchitis, diseases of the spleen, cough, and tumors.
Embelia ribes - known in commerce as Baibidang is recommended for relieving headache, rhinitis, hemorrhage, epilepsy, and insomnia. The decoction of dried fruits is used for fever and for chest and skin disease.
Woodfordia fruticosa - is a very beneficial herb to cure a range of vast diseases, it is used to cure diarrhea, piles, and dysentery because it is a powerful astringent. Dhataki flower applied externally to relieve the burning sensation of the skin.
